Title: Radio Resource Allocation in Device-to-Device (D2D) Communications 5G Networks

Abstract: The popularity and the use of smartphones and other mobile devices is increasing and result in enormous amounts of data traffic. To meet the needs of future bandwidth utilization, data transmission rate, and network connectivity, the current network architecture needs to be re-evaluated. Up until now, people have communicated with one another via uplink and downlink paths. By implementing D2D communication, these new networks are able to be enhanced as they are both scalable and efficient. The deployment of 5G networks will enhance the user experience in terms of the latency, the transmission speed and the connectivity of the devices. These benefits will intensify the integration of D2D communication in the existing cellular network. This aim of this talk is to introduce the the challenges with integrating D2D communication into cellular systems, and the potential for the technology is validated through the use of resource management application which is the radio resource allocation. An algorithm is introduced to address this issue as well strengthen the D2D system in terms of the interference management, the SINR and the throughput of the system which is useful to give valuable impact to the revenue of the country in the telecommunication industry.

Title: The AI–based Data Science and Analytics services

Abstract: Data Science is an interdisciplinary area between computing, mathematics, statistics, analytics, methods, machine learning, data processing and domain expertise. Mastering Data Science often will need to have clear understanding about the data, which methods suitable to deal with the research challenges, extract important results and explain fully and accordingly to the goals of research or business requirements. This keynote presents the latest research outputs for AI–based Data Science and Analytics services and methods that can analyze multiple disciplines including healthcare, finance, data center computing, social networks, security and weather studies. In particular, research outputs from two disciplines will be at the center of attention.

First, the health informatics service allows us to understand more about tumor, genes and proteins, as well as interpret part of how our human body can function. This includes the study of malignant tumor and genes that are prone to certain types of cancers. The latest research on coronavirus analysis and predictive modeling can be explained. Second, it is the financial deep learning, risk modeling and financial computation and algorithms. We can identify the correlation between the current and the past stock movement from the best matching scenarios. Various techniques and results will be discussed in details. Third, the weather studies of Malaysia over a period of time will be included. Temperature distributions in the entire Malaysia will be demonstrated. Outputs in analytics can show interesting results that can overcome challenges. These real-life examples can represent one of the pioneering AI-based Data Science and Analytics Services.

Title of Talk: Cyber-Physical Systems Security for Smart Grid Infrastructure

Title: Cyber-Physical Systems Security for Smart Grid Infrastructure

Abstract: There is a strong interdependence between the electrical and communication infrastructure and the neighboring energy systems in today’s modern Power and Energy Systems (PESs) components to enhance the resiliency and reliability of smart grid. To increase the capability of the remote-based monitoring and control systems, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are widely used in smart grid. WSNs, as the foundation of Internet-of-the-Things (IoT), act as one of the essential enabling technologies of Cyber-Physical Power and Energy Systems (CPPES). Besides the benefits of WSNs, such as high efficiency and low deployment costs, the cyber-physical security of wireless sensor-based communication networks is a big challenge. In addition, there are some measurable factors affecting the adoption of security enhancement approaches in smart grid. This talk focuses on presenting applications, challenges, and standards of WSNs in CPPES along with some solutions to enhance the cyber-physical security of smart grid infrastructure.
